Playhouse Square
With a panoramic view over the city landscape, the fifth floor of our Playhouse Square campus in Quarry Hill houses our purpose-built performing arts facilities, providing students with everything they need to excel in their learning.
Our state-of-the-art soundproofed rehearsal and ensemble rooms sit at the heart of this development.
Three large rehearsal spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows, two large dance studios, a green room and two breakout areas complete this dedicated performing arts space.
In addition, performing arts students will showcase their work and undertake productions in a 180-seat purpose-built theatre.

Mabgate Rehearsal Studio
Mabgate Studios
Mabgate is a cluster of red-brick buildings in Leeds' Cultural Quarter, making it a few minutes walk from Leeds Conservatoire and Playhouse Square. Aside from being home to our performing arts facilities, the area boasts four listed buildings, music studios, and has been labelled by Condé Nast Traveller as ‘one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the UK’.
Our Mabgate Studios are fitted with four long rehearsal spaces that are ideal for staging your projects and shows and facilitating musical theatre/actor-muso movement and dance. Interspersed with bright, spacious and well-equipped communal spaces, Mabgate Studios has been newly designed to hone a sense of community between students, while also boosting your progression.
Yorkshire Dance
Situated a stone’s throw away from our main building, students will have lessons in our neighbours bright and airy studios. The large space is full of natural light, sprung floors made of maple-wood, original wooden beams, and tremendous sound systems and acoustics.

Dance Studio Leeds
Students will find these aesthetic and versatile studios just a ten-minute walk from our main building. The rehearsal spaces are in a converted textile mill, which boasts exposed brick walls, full length mirrors, sprung dance floors, sound systems, and break out spaces.
