Leeds Conservatoire’s School of Drama is breaking new ground this year, securing the rights to stage not one but two UK premieres as part of their annual season of live performance.

Leeds Conservatoire has a global outlook and, as part of this, expanded its partnership with China Conservatory of Music during a recent visit. Principal Professor Joe Wilson and Head of International Recruitment Victoria Barber were amongst the invitees to CCM’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

The Contemporary Pop Choir has been chosen as a finalist for this year’s How Sweet The Sound competition and will be competing in the Large Choirs category against renowned choirs from Denmark, Italy and the UK.

The focus of the conservatoire’s new Access and Participation Plan is to continue the work started in its previous plan to support access to its provision, continuation, and degree outcomes for students from several disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds.

Leeds Conservatoire and the Red Violin festival have teamed up to bring a fun, free of charge, musical experience to the city and invite violinists of all ages and abilities to join.

A brand-new network has been created to connect creative musical talent with opportunities in West Yorkshire. Launched by Mayor Tracy Brabin in collaboration with Leeds Conservatoire, Come Play With Me, and CREATEBritain, the regional network will be a central hub for music industry professionals to share knowledge and insight, create opportunities and collaborate.
